  4. For those who haven't seen the movie, be aware that most of the songs on this "soundtrack" are not used in the movie. The movie uses more originals than covers, which is as it should be. Nonetheless, this is a good collection of covers. I'm a pretty big Dylan fan, but there are a couple songs on here that I had never heard of (such as "Billy 1")/5().

The soundtrack album for the Bob Dylan biopic I'm Not There was released as a double CD on October 30, It features only one recording by Dylan himself—his previously unreleased recording of the title song "I'm Not There" recorded during The Basement Tapes' sessions in —plus various other artists' recordings of songs written by Dylan.. These CDs do not contain the movie sound.

I'm not going to give a 'track by track' but a few standouts are: `Goin' To Acapulco' - Jim James & Calexico, `Pressing On' - John Doe, `You Ain't Goin' Nowhere' - Glen Hansard & Marketa Irglova and, of course, probably the best track on the album `I'm Not There' - Bob Dylan with The Band, which, to my knowledge, has only been available in /5(65).

For his impressionistic Bob Dylan biopic I'm Not There, director Todd Haynes hired an army of six actors to portray the singer/songwriter, each thespian representing a different phase or public persona of Dylan's career. The accompanying double-disc soundtrack -- not all of its 34 songs are used in the film -- employs a similar conceit, as Haynes and his music supervisors, Randall Poster.
